Sadly, yes and more. Large hiatal hernia, GERD, BE, originally Absessus possibly gone, pseudomonas active, afib, fibromyalgia, 5 compression fractures resulting 4 in loss of height and “organ crowding”. My stomach has no where to go except up and out. My lungs showed some atelectasis in lower lobes in last CT from crowding. Newest event coughing up large amount of blood two weeks ago. Enough to send this retired nurse to the ER. Xray, CT’s and ENT look down throat didn’t find anything. Pulmonologist leaning towards hypertonic saline and coughing weakened a blood vessel that ruptured. Stopped Eliquis and nebulizing for now.
Now to you. Adjustable bed!! I still slide some, but I use a sturdy cardboard box wrapped in a pillow case at the foot of the bed. I use it to push myself back up in the bed. No more of the silky slippery sheets or sleepwear. I really want to Velcro my back to the bed. I can only sleep on my back, Consider trying Manuka honey for reflux. It has to be the really good stuff. I take a generous teaspoon at bedtime. It has antibiotic properties also. I’ve been through 10 years of proton pump inhibitors (ruined my bones) and just about every other reflux treatment over too many years. I hope you find some answers.

@bamaqueen As soon as I read "retired nurse" I wondered if you worked in a hospital setting or doctors office etc.. My thoughts went to often patients might have given you what they had, illnesses. If so, that certainly didn't/couldn't help you through the years with the sum of it all in, some way , adding to your health.

For ten years, just about, I slept flat on my back and feel this contributed to my BE...but as I said helped contribute. I have believed it is never just one thing that caused/causes a happening/event etc. in ones life.
Yes to Manuka honey or a good pure honey also.
Your body has given you much to take care of and that ain't an easy job in many ways.

Wish we could Velcro ourselves to the right sleeping position so not to end up on one's back and below where we should be.

I, for me, I did not start PPI's and to this day do not think I would if a doctor prescribed them due to possible side effects, especially with osteoporosis and BE.
