I have asked but was looking for something more like documentation records. Patient feedback on using this procedure For experience and success rates. Just wanted more information hoping for reassurance in a newer type procedure.

@davijoe All focal therapies for prostate cancer have higher recurrence rates even when treatment is provided by centers of excellence. Recurrence is highly correlated with how severe the prostate cancer is with Gleason 4+3 having a much higher rates than 3+4; also related to number of lesions and the percentage of type 4 in the 3+4 with lower being better. Much better with just 1 or 2. Recurrence of 20%-30% or more within 2 years is not unusual with these treatments.

That said the reason to get a focal treatment is they do not have the side effects of ED and incontinence of surgery and pushes the decision of what kind of definite treatment out to the time of recurrence if it occurs. Like any procedure you should get treated by a doctor that has extensive experience with IRE for prostate cancer. There are a few centers that specialize in this and other focal therapies.
