@djg3012 - I hear you. I used to hike 3-4 times a week with friends and now have to cancel all the time. It's hard to explain to people. I've had people tell me "you just need to work yourself back into shape and push a little." The trouble is that I've tried that approach and it just makes the PEM worse. Very frustrating.

@donnastefan You’re correct, pushing though it not only makes things worse, it can also make it more difficult and longer to recover in general. That’s been one of the most difficult lessons for me to learn form my Long Covid ME/CFS diagnosis. Even my physical therapist paused my therapy until my condition improves. She advised me not to try to do all of my therapy daily, but spread it out only when I have capacity.
