Thank you for your answer and suggestions.
I have had it for a year and a half. I did not have any discomfort until several months ago. I have several now. It just seems like the last one I purchased two months ago started giving me a sore spot for a while. I changed the pads and it seemed better. A couple of weeks ago, I started to get mild discomfort so I went back to one of my older ones, and it seems better.

@david1643 Good point. New pads vs. old pads.

That old pads causes less irritation for you mirrors my experience. I think it’s because the new pads are softer / stickier and pull on the skin causing the need for more frequent lubrication, whereas after use the old pads are harder and smoother. Don’t give up. There is a reason millions of clamps are sold each year.
