@annie1 whom did you interview. I’m in the process of choosing a surgeon . Two doctors in Sarasota Florida recommended cervical posterior C2-T1. I consulted with a neurosurgeon from HSS who recommended a cervical laminoplasty. I don’t know what to do. They all al warn me that I can loose fuction and I’m in danger of paralysis.

For the cervical spine you mean? The first person who thought it was urgent was a doctor in Boston what other doctors said they didn't think it was urgent since I didn't have any symptoms in my hands or other urgent symptoms like incontinence and losing my balance. I am having slight balance problems so they said it could wait. I did see a doctor at the Mayo clinic this past week, Dr Mel helgeson who also said it wasn't urgent but he thought in the next few years I would need my cervical spine to have a very large surgery to prevent me from having to be in a wheelchair. I haven't spoken with anyone at HSS but I've been mostly interviewing surgeons about my lumbar spine symptoms which are just throbbing pain in my legs after walking which makes life kind of difficult. I've been taking oxycodone for it for 2 years. I'd like to hear more about your symptoms and why they said you would be paralyzed. I'm assuming they're in your cervical spine? I can't remember the guy's name in Boston at this moment because I didn't like his answer and I think is slightly unethical to say I need urgent neck surgery without the major symptoms of spinal cord compression. But please tell me what your symptoms were if you don't mind sharing. Do you live in New York city? Definitely like to talk to you if you do live in the New York area.
