Sorry I don’t understand the multiple doses as it’s not a painkiller in the strictest sense. That sounds really dangerous to me. I took it once a day in the morning. It gives so much energy that if I took it at night I wouldn’t sleep. It might be better to follow the specialist advice I think. It’s a really dangerous drug and takes years to get over so caution is advised. Good luck.

You don't take 2 full doses of prednisone so not "multiple doses." . If you are on 15 mg for example, you save a small portion of your dose for the evening. It helps to get you through the night without the morning 3 a.m. pain people have. If you don't have that early morning pain and your whole a.m prednisone dose lasts for 24 hours, then there is no need to split your dose.

I split my dose and actually needed less prednisone that way. If I needed 30 mg taken all in the morning as one dose, I might still wake up in pain.

When I split my dose I might do well with 15 mg in the morning and 5 mg in the evening for a total of 20 mg and I wouldn't have any morning pain.

The main reason for taking your entire dose all in the morning is to mimick how the adrenals release cortisol in order to decrease the risk of adrenal suppression. However, taking anything more than 5 mg of prednisone for more than a couple of weeks will result in suppressed adrenal function.
