I too am having heart surgery to repair ascending aortic aneurism. One thing I have a little different is I have lymphedema in my arm from breast cancer and I am concerned to go without any treatment for it for several days or weeks. I have also read heart surgery can cause lymphedema. I am going to talk to my doctors and lymphedema therapist about this but just wondered if anyone else had experience with this. Along with some family problems I won't go into it all feels like too much to deal with.

I do not have lymphedema, but I have had heart surgery. Where will the surgery be performed? What is your age? Do you live alone?

@lilyofvalley but why would you have to cease your lymphedema treatments? The doctors can order this for you to be continued while an inpatient. You might consider, if possible, bring any equipment for this treatment with you so you’re not charged for it by the hospital with your doctors permission.
