@jaki I totally understand being a basket case. I am too since April 9. Everything is good except my gfr and my creatine is elevated. I have been drinking 64 oz water, no more cokes. I have had a funerals and felt like I was killing myself. You know. I’ve been eating broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, salad, chicken, some salmon and tuna in can rinsed off twice! Fruits are strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, raspberries, apples and pineapple. I’m missing bananas for sure. Did you go to a speciality list or nutritionist? I’m wondering if I should. Thank you so much for responding! I feel like I’m totally alone here, but I know I’m not, I just have never known anyone with ckd. Thank you!

@slhearn61 you are definitely not alone…there are many…i post here because I find this community so helpful…any tip I learn, I’ll share it….hard part for me is balancing the needs of CKD and osteoporosis—their diets are opposites.

Hi,
Since my eGFR and other renal labs have stabilized, I have not seen a renal nutritionist yet.

So, to settle my brain and emerge from the rabbit hole I would spiral down, I went with the KISS principle….I created a fairly simple cheat sheet of the kidney friendly foods that I *like* and placed it on my fridge!
Along with a protein food chart that I found online.

So far, this has worked for me. Recent labs were good. Will re check in November.
