Hello Toco,
I found your post today, May 23, 2026. In all this time (over 2 years) the Spine Pain Management team has not been able to do anything that relieved the severe pain from the intensely increasing Modic degeneration at thoracic 6-7 and 7-8. In addition to the Modic pain, I now have severe right knee (ankle and hip) pain that keeps me awake most of the night. They have reactivated the pain in my S.I. with trying to do an ESI to help the leg pain twice. Out of 11 procedures over two years, only two helped . They want to implant a spinal cord stimulation device for spinal pain but that will not solve the Modic problem. It needs to be "burned" off by the Intracept Procedure by Relievant which the probe hasn't been developed for the thoracic and cervical spine.
Have you found an alternative procedure that has helped or do you know anything more about the Intracept procedure progress.
Thank you for your reply.
Suz

@suzfuse46 I just went through an ACDF three levels so I’m sorry for not responding sooner. I’ve discovered all kinds of issues. My cervical problem is doing great 4 months post op, but the sever thoracic pain is just killing me. I’ve had injections in that area because the pain dr says it’s just “trigger point” problems. The first injection did me good for about six months but the last two did nothing at all. The pain is destroying my way of life. It’s affecting my diaphragm the most, it feels like I’m going to pass out if I move wrong. My body won’t let me sneeze most of the time because it’s going to be too painful. I’m in PT right now for my ACDF recovery and the therapist said it’s got TJ be more than triggers points. They’re trying to help me without hurting me. My ACDF surgeon will evaluate my thoracic region in October after my fusion takes hold in my neck. I can’t function like this and I have a high tolerance for pain. I don’t know what to do at this point.
