@funcountess careful what you use. My new dentist told me the sugar free candies, lozenges, etc can change the acidity of you saliva causing teeth decay. That is what has happened to me. I use to use sugar free candies, ACT Dry Mouth, Xylimelts, TheraBreath Dry Mouth Lozenges. I stopped taking all of they and just use Biotene Dry Mouth wash and spray. I did do a random acidity tests in the mornings and did see a change in the acidity. I stopped using them all. I now only use the Biotene and keep the spray beside my bed when my mouth is dry in the middle of the night. I'm not a fan of their gel. Tooth decay is common with people with Sjogren's Syndrome. I only experience dryness while sleeping. I do tape my mouth closed at night as well.

@aam1006 I'm interested in knowing how you do an acidity test and if your saliva is too acidic what do you use to lower it? I have a continual taste disorder all day and nothing has helped. I was told that it could be the make-up of my saliva, not the amount that I have.

@aam1006 -- Xylimelts do not cause tooth decay. At least that is what a google search told me. My dentist actually suggested Xylimelts to me. Also gave me a prescription toothpaste for dry mouth.
