Has anyone had a successful hip revision surgery?

Is there an age limit on hip revision surgery. I'm 74 and will need hip revision due to chronic lower back pain from previous hip revision that left me with a leg length discrepancy. Am I too old to undergo this surgery again?

@sylviagbbs Probably not too old, but there are more conservative treatments for leg length discrepancy than revision surgery. I have bi-lateral hip implants, and a leg-length discrepancy that was not able to be corrected by revision surgery. Intensive PT with gait training and an orthotics for my shoes with a lift for the shorter leg solved my back issues. This was over 12 years ago, and all is still fine.

Now, I am older than you, and will eventually be requiring revisions because my hips are over 20 years old. My surgeon assures me that physical condition and not age determines when this surgery is OK.

Have you tried PT or other treatments for your pain?
