A colorectal dr recommended surgery for my rectal prolapse, however I chose not to do it unless it is absolutely necessary. Mine happens almost every time I have bm. If the bm is a large amt of stool it comes out ALOT ; sometimes if bm is not too much the rectum comes out a bit less. I try to relax, not tense up and slowly push it back in while using toilet paper or wet wipes. I have IBS-C and a torturous colon….been dealing with constipation my whole life.
Feel free to ask me questions if you want to. Glad to help you if I can.

@anniewee I do the same but mine is a full prolapse that is out all the time. So at times when things are stuck it's like having contractions until it gets relieved. Sometimes for hours. That is what causes the extreme pain for me. I use stool softners, laxatives, fiber, prunes and other fibrous foods. But I also have chronic pancreatitis that affects my diet as well.
