@retiredteacher Carol, I am so sorry you are going through this, you had so enthusiastically started the walking group and now you have trouble walking. It really does not seem fair.
CBD is available at some stores that have opened up that specialize in it. It is also available on Amazon. I only know that you should check on the source, some are not as good as others. It really seems to be the new wonder drug.

@contentandwell It is ironic, but I hope to find something that will help so that walking is possible again. At this point, I cannot even grocery shop, so my husband is having to do that in spurts. We'll get through this though my feet may not improve, My concern is the erratic blood numbers for my diabetes. I have researched and see that extreme heat definitely affects the numbers. We have had temps ten to fifteen degrees higher than the norm and even in in the house with AC it is still too warm. We just take it one day at a time.
Thanks for caring.
Carol

My husband started me on CBD a month ago and I have had reduced pain in my feet. Although the numbness continues there is a great reduction in overall pain, swelling, stabbing pain and I am able to walk more and stand in the kitchen long enough to cook a meal.
I had umbilical cord stem cell treatment (Injections into my feet) on May 14, 2019 and am now using the TENS machine regularly but not as much as I was told to. Yesterday I was able to wear a pair of shoes with a slight heel that I hadn't been able to wear.
I am taking Gabapentin less and less. 300mg at night. None in the day as the side effects are intolerable. After reading more on this site, I am going to ask my doctor about Topamax.
After dealing with peripheral neuropathy in my feet for seven (7) years, I am feeling positive about the future. After having so many tell me the next stop was a surgeon and then foot prosthetics, I could certainly carry on as I am for many years.
