Update: I went to the urologist in Oak Ridge, TN.
He was reluctant, but he ordered an ExoDx and an mpMRI. My MRI is next Monday.
Is there anything I should ask or be aware of beforehand? Or after?

What they will find if you have a problem is PIRADS lesions. They are ranked 1-5 based on likelihood of being cancerous. A four and a five definitely call for a biopsy soon. Even a three can require one. A one or two can probably just be ignored for now. Your doctor will let you know what your best options are.

The MRI will show the size of your prostate, A very large one can result in a high PSA and it means nothing. I could also see if you have some other problems like spread outside the prostate itself.

@oinc2526

After you get the MRI results, more input can be provided.

As Jeff indicated, the MRI may show 1 or more lesions.

Lesions will be rated with a Pirads number as Jeff indicated.

Also, MRI may note possible Extra capsular extension or items like that.

After you get your MRI results, the members here can help provide more info/guidance.

Best Wishes.

@oinc2526 and as Jeff mentioned below knowing the size of your prostate can help you calculate prostate density to put your PSA numbers in a context along with identifying characteristics of BpH or Prostatitis or suspicious lesions which can guide future decisions.
