My wife. She has ben fantastic! She has done so much "special laundry", my clothing, bedding and even our furniture have ocassionaly have all needed special attention cleanups. I have yet to change a pouch without her help.
Next would be my two adult children, and friends and neighbors. They have all been extremely supportive and helpful especially in the months just after surgery.

This discussion group has helped me in many ways, including leading me to a fellow ostomate Marian Liska in far away Slovakia. He posted here that he had built a tool for cutting pouch openings to desired size. I was frustrated with hand cutting and the precut pouches were only available in sizes too small or too large. I contacted him (liska@enviteam.sk) and eventually I was able to get his "Octopus" machine built to cut perfect 27 mm holes which fit my stoma nicely. He also has other things he is working on to make ostomates lives easier. He has become a solid friend who has given me several helpful ideas.

Finally, I have a friend who is an excellant craftsman with a 3D printer. He has made a few plastic parts for me. One of them is the stoma protector (pictured below) that slides into the cover of pouches made by Hollister and Coloplast. It allows me to have a waist band or even a belt pass right over my stoma without blocking the output,

@dona46 Your friend could sell his stoma protectors! I am always looking for comfortable elastic pants and shorts because a waist band and belt isn't comfortable any longer.

Is he open to helping others?
