Causes of sharp lower back/hip pain?

@mshepard1 Thank you for writing. It has been a long journey, almost 3 years of pain from when I get up until I go to bed, every day, all day. It really wears you down.

I had the injections, they called it Trigger Point injections at the doctor's office, now I wait to see if there is any relief. I have had 3 epidurals. The first two did not make any difference, I was not better, but I was not worse. Unfortunately, the 3rd epidural I had was back in February, and from the day of the epidural, I was, and still am, in more pain than before the procedure.

The doctor mentioned if these injections did not work, there is a Botox option. I read about doctors using Botox for locked muscles, so that might end up being my next step.

@marcd2k it now sounds like you are exactly where I am in this process. I had the Trigger point injections three times, once before I fell and twice after I fell. They did not work for me. I have had epidural previously for different issue and they did not work. So sorry that the last one caused you more pain! So please let me know your results with the Botox shot. Good luck to you.
