Recast decreases bone brakes by 50% over 3 years. Bone brakes in women
over 65 is very common and at that age bone loss is very common. Hip
replacement is not possible so nursing home care is common. Most insurance
doesn't cover this unless the person is so poor they can get Medicaid. The
pain level is high and many cannot walk.
This drug has been studied in cancer patients too, which I research.
If a patient has dental problems this drug is not recommended.
The side effect are low. I had no side effects.
As I am 78 years old I figure I have 8 years left to live. I moved to a 1
story home with space for home care.
This is FDA approved and the figures I quote are from clinical trials
conducted 20 years ago. Medicare has a high database that proves the
reduction in bone loss is true after all these years. They keep track of
all doctor visits and hospitalizations.
There are many databases and ongoing research in this country and
worldwide. The National Library of Medicine has a Hugh database as well.
The Mayo Clinic also recommends this treatment.

@micheleroyalty7 I don't know where those statistics come from, but I doubt you can just credit a drug just based on the number of fractures at a given period of time or from a control group for that matter. Bone that is not remodeled is poor brittle bone, as in you become more like to fracture when having a fall, not the other way around. In a Dex Scan, bone strength will look better because it fills the porous areas in the bones, but that's it; long-term use of these drugs becomes the problem.

These fractures occur in areas of the bone that are not typically prone to breaks, indicating a change in bone quality."
