Feeling overwhelmed after first learning about an osteoporosis is quite understandable and common. Probably best to take the time to understand what is going on unless your treating doctor tells you your situation needs urgent attention. We know nothing about you....age, DEXA score, fracture history, other medical issues and medication to be able to discuss the Evenity recommendation. But many people have posted here that they are referred for a cardiology assessment before beginning Evenity.

I was just diagnosed is February. I’m 61 my Spine score is -2.7 and hips are -2.0. I’ve never fractured and I don’t take any medications. The 1st Endo I seen said that’s probably my problem why I’m so stressed because I don’t take anything. Maybe he’s right. In fall of 2023 I was diagnosed with osteopenia and I tried Fosomax. After pill 2 I was having severe pain in my lower right back. I thought it was my sciatic nerve. Took me to pill 3 or 4 before I realized what was causing it. I couldn’t even roll over in bed. So Dr had me stop and just told me to increase my calcium. Dr ran some blood tests and 24 hour urine calcium test. Results for urine test was slightly elevated 306 and 300 is the max. Dr office called yesterday about setting up Evenity. I had asked about Evista but she didn’t seem to keen on it. I’m assuming because my scores aren’t that severe maybe she’s thinking Evenity will put my back in osteopenia? I’m hoping she calls me back today. I asked the person who called me with results about HRT and she said Dr doesn’t prescribe that. I don’t know. It’s all so confusing. 🫤
