@lzimms My Name is Pearl Edmundson, I live in Southern California, I walked 7 1/2 miles with the Grandbabies at Disneyland in Anaheim around Sept. 27, 2026. I injured my knee about three days later stepping off a step. Heard a crack. I already had a diagnosis of degenerative of arthritis in the left knee, bone on bone, but fully mobile. On crutches, little bit of wheelchair for long distances, like LAX Airport, short walking with no assistance, so mobile. I developed a UTI. My doctors went through 2 antibiotics (Keflex, Vantin) they did not work, took a urine culture settling on Ciprofloxacin. My Orthopedic Specialist convinced me to take a corticosteroid injection into the injured right knee, on January 2, 2026. I asked the Orthopedic Specialist is it okay to take the Ciprofloxacin that was ordered because I did not expect to get a corticosteroid injection that same day. The Orthopedic Specialist said, "it's okay." I then went to the UTI Doctor running the tests for the UTI, in the same building. I told him I just got a corticosteroid injection into the right knee, is it okay to take the Ciprofloxacin ordered for the UTI. This Physician also said, "it's okay." The combo is Not okay. I had 72 hours of Charlie Horses in both legs, after the 72 hours I was non ambulatory in both legs. I cannot take a step. I cannot walk, I was pivoting wheelchair to recliner sofa, and wheelchair to potable potty but now that is almost impossible without help. The right leg woke up a month ago, meaning I could lift it while laying flat, and bend it. But on Friday April 25th, the right leg changed and went back to not working, same as the left leg, again. The pain is both legs is overwhelming. Constant pain. I went to ER, as the legs are now puffy the right ankle not able to bear weight. My calves, ankles, feet are going numb, and feel ice cold, tingling, both legs are swelling, all the way up the thighs and just ache and burn constantly. I am totally non ambulatory. I went to the ER when the Right leg failed again and was admitted to the Hospital and here I sit, they are still testing. This is Corporate Medical Care so they will not admit the Cipro & Steroid combo had an adverse reaction. The MRI shows the right ankle has tendonitis, achkillies issues, the bone is swollen, bruised and fractured at the ankle. my legs are non ambulatory, if laying flat I can't lift the legs, can't bend the legs. The MRI's show other issues, I am getting a needle stuck in the knee to withdraw fluid to check for sepsis. The Doctors are saying I had an allegoric reaction to the Ciprofloxacin, and it triggered an auto immune disorder. So they want to start Hydroxychloroquine, (Pacquil) to treat and auto immune disorder without a name. Because this corporate medical care they also want to start steroids, but that does not explain the legs won't work, it does not explain 72 hours of Charlie horses in both legs, after the Cipro & Steroid combo on January 2, 2026 and the complete loss of the use of my legs. All that to say how to I get in touch with the Dr. Ghalili that helped you?

@pearledmundson7 It is absolutely a horrible drug. I had reactions in my hands and ankles. I even went for an allergy test prior because i have known allergies to numerous antibiotics. My mouth started tingling immediately, and I told the allergist that, but since my only other option was to be hospitalized with a study of other drugs to help with MRSA in my bladder and long standing complicated multiple UTI's at once, prior to at the time a planned cervical surgery- I got off it after 3 days as it caused huge blisters in my mouth at the same time as my joints in ankles and wrists and fingers. The pain was horrific. Never again! You are in much tougher situation and I am sending positive wishes for a turnaround and full recovery. you may want to consider" Attorneys and Firms Representing Cipro Claims" to get you the help you need. I never did, and that was a few years ago, so my window closed. Don't wait too long. You will need lots of documentation- maybe the firm that takes you on will do all the work and only take a fee if they win the case. I have never suggested litigation before- but if they feel you have a good case, it could help you.
