Peripheral neuropathy (PN) is a general term for nerve damage from known causes like Diabetes or deficiencies, while Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy is the same condition but specifically diagnosed when no cause is found after testing, meaning symptoms may be similar but treatment differs because identifiable causes can sometimes be addressed whereas idiopathic cases focus on symptom management.
