What would I do differently? I would have gotten a 2nd opinion earlier. My urologist never once mentioned getting an MRI, never mentioned a 2nd biopsy, only wanted PSA and f/u visits. Do kegels and strengthen core & pelvic floor, early on. I wish I would have found this discussion board earlier. Accept that our health care system is broken, you must be your own advocate because nobody is likely to help you, be persistent.

@jeff1963 , I am at Mayo due to a broken health care system in East Tennessee. My PCP in Kingsport raised the red flag when my PSA hit 8.6 last October but could not find a local urologist that could see me until this June. I changed oncologist from there to Mayo a few years ago when they wanted to put me on a chemo for my neuroendocrine cancer that as Mayo said " would only have made me sick". I gave Mayo a call to see if I could get in to see a urologist and they thankfully took me right on in. Mayo has such an amazing health care system that we moved to within an hours drive of Jacksonville. Thanks for the heads-up on core strengthening. I'll get started right away.
