@kjoeme1978, I agree and feel your frustration. I waited months to see the LP dermatology specialist at Washington University, St. Louis, MO.
I spent hours gathering my medical records, pictures, previous treatments, and everything related to my LP.
The physician spent less than 10 minutes with me.
Did not look at anything I brought for review. Recommended Rogaine for my scalp and hydroxychloroquine for my mouth. I tried to explain that I could not take it due to histoplasmosis in my eyes and the possibility of retinal damage from the hydroxy as suggested by my ophthalmologist. I am not a candidate for biologics due to having multi-organ histoplasmosis. The doc said I could continue topical clobetasol for my scalp. Alternate that with Rogaine. Out the door they went. I was so disappointed. This physician is supposed to be the ONLY ONE at WU to specialize and treat LP.

@gypsyblue I live in Stl and went to an OM dr At St. Louis University. He is an oral pathologist. Dr Vargo. . He did biopsy but didn’t treat for very long. Said that was all he could try. Just a pathologist. Who is the Washington U dr. Anakat? He is the only Dr I have heard of at Wash u. Love to know. I went to Mayo in February. Steroid swish and spit given for bad times. In there for 15 min. Quite an expense but felt I needed to check the box. I keep looking for the one who has treated this condition and cares. It has been difficult for sure. Let me know who you saw. Thank you.
