@oopsiedaisy Thanks for your reply! And thanks for the research! As everything in the medical world takes time, I am concerned about missing the window to start the bisphosphonates, but it seems there is a decent amount of time before bone loss to hopefully determine if I am at risk. I might just start and see what happens, but I don't want to cause damage or a new health problem.
I was told about the specific directions for Fosamax and I am a rule follower when it comes to meds; I was wondering, based on your experience with the drug, do you know if we can drink more than a full glass of water and is exercise at the gym ok to do during the 30-minute wait? I have this also on my list of questions for my endocrinologist when she gets back to me.

@hopeandhope Yes, you can drink more than a full glass of water. And yes, you can exercise as long as you stay in an upright position (no lying down on a mat to do yoga or core exercises). I'd avoid strenuous exercise during that time, though.
