You’re gonna be fine. You know you’ve got a problem now you can get help. I had a complete sudden dissection in 2015 and it was a nightmare. I wish I would’ve known that. I had the problem and I could’ve done something about it instead of having it happen to me suddenly. You are in really good hands in the sense that you know you’ve got a problem and you can do something about it and you’ve got a doctor and surgical team that are on it. You’re right on the cusp of being a candidate for surgery at 5 cm. You’re gonna be fine but you should know that there are 1 million open heart surgeries a year in the United States. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to go through, but trust me when I say this, you don’t wanna dissect suddenly because that is a disaster. So you’re not alone. There are lots of people on this Listserv who’ve had the surgery and who’ve come back here to pay forward.
