No worries, @dlkreps. I absolutely understand how time goes by trying to get through poor energy/health challenging times. Finding joy in daily life sounds like an extreme struggle right now and I am glad to hear you are partnering with your general practitioner to figure out why.

I recently learned it takes some time for improvement if statins are the culprit, so it is a good thing you are taking the step now to stop taking rosuvastatin. It is also important to address potential heart and kidney problems in addition to muscles.

The injection that works well for me in Inclisiran (Leqvio). Starting requires an initial shot, then a 2nd in three months, a 3rd in another three months. It is every 6 months after that. I am scheduled for my 7th injection in a couple of weeks.

My cardiologist is at Mayo Clinic MN. He has considerable focus on prevention and their Statin Intolerance Program. From this program they will coordinate with other departments as needed, a tremendous benefit of Mayo Clinic’s integrative approach to improving patient health. I also listened to a recent continuing education podcast with him as a guest discussing statin myopathy (including so much more). From our discussions I think you may find it super valuable.

I absolutely recommend contacting Dr. Kopecky or Statin Intolerance Clinic for guidance. You can pursue an appointment here: http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63

I relate to your experience and would like to continue hearing about your experience. This comment has general information and I am certainly happy to share more as you have questions.

What dose of rosuvastatin have you been taking? You mentioned discontinuing. Are you changing anything else in the meantime, other medications, diet, exercise, etc? Are you experiencing symptoms other than muscles, and has your doctor discussed potential heart or kidney concerns?

@jlharsh thanks for the great information! I’ve been thinking all day about seeking out another cardiologist. It seems that I’m not being heard when I express symptoms from medication or any other general heart related issues. I live in west central Mn. so Rochester Mayo is only a 4 hour drive. I will certainly read the articles in the links and listen to the material you sent me.
I’ve been on 5 mg of rosuvastatin along with 10 mg of ezetimibe. Shortly after I began this new regiment I ended up with a bad case of pneumonia. I felt terrible for 3 months. After that I hadn’t been feeling myself but didn’t attribute it to the statin. Well about a month ago it hit me like a brick and so I had my general practitioner do some blood tests. Like I mentioned in the earlier post my CK and albumin levels were very high. My doctor suggested that I take a two week break from just the rosuvastatin. They want to isolate the meds I’m off so that they can determine which one is affecting me. I will have blood work done again April 30th and see if my levels have changed for the better. I really appreciate the information you gave me. I think I will try to get an appt with Dr. Kopecky at Mayo.
