@tdgillett I had an ablation in February of 2025. The procedure is rather simple and you're out of there with a catheter you "wear" for at least 3 days (I was lucky and was able to get it removed after the 3rd day, apparently that's not the case with some). The catheter and removal were the worse part causing me the most anxiety. Right after, I was shocked how well I could pee - it was almost comical. Things settled to a functioning normal after a couple of weeks or so. My urologist made sure I could ejaculate post surgery, which worked, even though the semen volume is about half what it was. I had a bit of a set back after about 3 mos with some nerve pain in my penis when my bladder filled. That lasted for several months, but basically cleared up at about the 13th month after surgery. Right now, I'm super happy I did it. No more sitting to pee, no more dribbling, no leakage, no meds. Back to where I was in my 40s. I'm a 69 year old in pretty good shape - not overweight and maintain a good diet and exercise. My prostate was about 60 cc and I had BPH for almost 20 years. If you have a good urologist/surgeon, I'd say get it done.
