@kathyhg

I just watched that video on expand-a-lung and read the accompanying information on aerobika, nebulizer, etc.

I have a couple of questions based on what I read and hoping others might be able to share their experience:

Has anyone tried the expand-a-lung and, if so, have you found it helpful?
Does anyone use the aerobika with the nebulizer? Or is it more effective to use it before and after nebulizing?

Hi Kathy I have had NTM for about 2 1/2 years and I Use 7% Saline with the
nebulizer and the aerobika at same time 15 minutes. It’s been very
effective for me. I do it one time a day because I don’t have a lot of
loose congestion in my chest and from what I read one time a day is good.

I haven't tried expand-a-lung, but I do my own version with belly-breathing exercises several times a day.
I use both a neb & the Aerobika, but after trying them together, I find I get better results from the saline neb plus huff coughing, then add the Aerobika afterward if I still feel tight or have more mucus. If using both, the Aerobika is definitely more effective after for me.
I will say, your results may vary, and it may change from day to day.
For example, now that the snow is gone & allergens are in the air, I will switch from my rescue inhaler to a levalbuterol neb in the AM, followed by saline. I will add more puffs of the inhaler, or more nebs, as conditions warrant. I have also found that wearing a mask in windy conditions (dusty or not) actually helps when I walk - apparently more controlled airflow is better for me than gusts - who knew?
