@halford

thanks everyone for advice for getting rid of mucus. I have a question. I am using a nebulizer and one of the solutions that Im using is budessonide, .5 milligrams. Has anyone been on this and what are your thought? The other solution that I take is a sodium chloride at 3%. I also use a aerobika several times a day. Thank you

Budesonide is a steroid and steroids create an environment for bacterial growth and therefore steroids should not be used by those of us who are susceptible to ntm or other bacteria. That being said, I use Symbicort 2x every day and one of its two drugs is budesonide. When Dr McShane started treating me for MAC, she tried to get me off Symbicort, first by prescribing an inhaler that doesn't have a steroid component and, when that didn't work, she prescribed a form of Symbicort which had less budesonide. I have copd as well as bronchiectasis and need the steroid to function so, although I shouldn't be using a steroid, I need it and continue using Symbicort .

As for the 3%, its purpose, along with the aerobika, is to help bring up any sputum stuck in your lungs. 7% is best but 3% is good too.

Hope this helps.
