@skim3737 I was on treatment a year ago for SIBO. I retested and it was negative. However it has returned. The antibiotics this time made me very sick. Now I’m just trying to manage it with low fod map and florastor. I feel stuck again.

It's so hard to eradicate for good. Have you tried herbal antimicrobials yet?

@mbusch12 I had SIBO. It can be caused by taking antibiotics because antibiotics kill the bad and the good bacteria. (I was put on antibiotics at times due to having Mytrial Valve Prolapse which is in the heart and the concern is when having dental work it can cause bacteria to enter the heart. ) My functional medicine doctor put me on a prebiotic for a while and then I was switched to a probiotic - both to build back the good bacteria our guts need. It was explained to me that our upper digestive system has certain bacteria and the lower digestive system has a certain bacteria. Both are important for digestion. That worked for me plus omitting some foods for awhile that are difficult to digest.
