Hi Chris,

There's definitely a need from the doctor providing both a stamped/signed memo stating I am his/her patient as well as the prescription list. It will be better if those can be in the visiting country's home language, Pack the medications (with spare) in the hand carry and be prepared to answer questions at the immigration/security both at home and abroad. In the end, I am glad to say immigration/security at both sides didn't have an issue with my medication and there's no need to touch the spare which I brought along because there's no delay of flights. The dry air onboard also didn't affect me. after not having been in a metal tube for over 3 years.

There's no time difference between Singapore and Taiwan, where I visited and the plane ride was only 4 hours direct so no need to recondition my body. Knowing where to go if shit happens is vital, and it's best not to travel alone.

Other than that, no special preparation to be honest. Just enjoy yourself and ssignal/tell others don't panic (it's always not me who worry my having of seizure). It's a frustration, and may even be life threathening if we do not take care of ourselves. I kept telling me it's no difference from me being left handed. The world just isn't one totally built for me and it's just another minor inconvenienve I gotta live with.

Cheers,
Louis

Hi Louis,
Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us.
I agree that being left-handed makes no difference — or can even be an advantage! Rafael Nadal and Martina Navratilova, two remarkable tennis players, are both left-handed. With that example, I do not need to tell you that I am a tennis fan! 😊
If possible, I would appreciate it if you could share your travel preparations directly in the discussion dedicated to this subject. This might benefit members who do not follow every discussion. Would you mind doing so? Here is the link: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/what-preparations-do-you-make-when-travelling-with-epilepsy/.
If you have any trouble, please let me know.
If I understood you correctly, you are currently living in Taiwan — is that right?
Chris
