If I was making the decision over again, and had decided on Radiation again, I would’ve taken the prostex test first, to check for radiation sensitivity. If I was sensitive, I would’ve had the discussion of whether I could space out five sessions of radiation enough to make a difference, or whether I should have more doses at lower dosage levels. I certainly would have spaceoar again to minimize my risk and I definitely would have chosen a real time Mri based SBRT Machine like the Mridian or Electa Unity, again. If Proton had a built-in Mri, I might very well have chosen it, but it still is not available.

I have not seen any studies or reports related to data collection on how changing the timeframe of your radiation treatments might impact the results or your sensitivity. It certainly is worth discussing with your doctor.

@bens1 I read a report almost 7 years ago when I was deciding on primary treatment.
There were hospitals doing SBRT once per week (5 sessions total) to mitigate urinary SE’s; never followed up on that.
But it does make sense that increased recovery time between sessions would be a good thing; and since the effects of radiation are cumulative/additive, it should not impact success. Best,
