Hi @clendenin I am so sorry to hear that you have been dealing with depression on top of PMR/GCA. That diagnosis alone is a lot to bear but additional depression must feel overwhelming. I was also diagnosed with both about 4 years ago and have been taking both prednisone & Actemra for about the same period. I concur with @kjoed53, I have periodic down days but I do not have persistent depression or suicidal ideation. I have not heard of that side effect but medication affects us all differently so I think you should seek a medical professional to explore the possibilities. I also think you received some very sound advice about seeking additional emotional support and advocating for yourself. If that seems like more than you can handle right now, I pray that you can call on a friend or loved one to be your voice. Obviously, our group has lots of limitations but I am thankful that you used this format to check-in and let others know how you are feeling.
