update….i brought up a sputum last Thursday and it was really ugly… I had a lab cup which I had kept on my nightstand so I quickly got it and spit the sputum in it. My daughter works at the hospital where the lab is so I called and she came to pick it up and get it to the lab. The lab report posted to my chart and lo and behold it was Pseudomonas… I however have no symptoms and the IV for the past 21 day treatment was just pulled a week ago. Last year, a lung infection was among the four that I had, one after another.
I read that if you’re not symptomatic that you do not necessarily have to be treated … anyone have this experience ? Thsnks Kay B .

Since Pseudomonas is so difficult if not impossible to get rid of (unless treated aggressively early on) it will show up again. Even if you are not symptomatic you can attempt to keep it at bay with nebulizing twice a day and using one of the inhaled antibiotics for Pseudo, if you tolerate. Also Brinsupri seems to help most people (if your Pseudo under control).
