Many times when I was an active Episcopal priest, I would help people pay for the or prescriptions so they could eat, get diapers, etc. I was standing in line to pick up one of my prescriptions one day, and the elderly woman in front of me was crying and talking to the person behind the counter. I was not trying to eavesdrop, but I heard her say to the person behind the counter “Oh my, that is so much, but I guess I don’t have to eat all that much for the rest of the month.” The script was costing her $300.00. I immediately stepped forward and told the woman behind the counter to put that woman’s medication‘s on my debit card. It happens all the time. We need to get this fixed.
