@puffinmum for the last four years I have had life changing pain around glutes so joints lower sacrum and tried everything with injections and nerve desensitisation procedures . None of which helped and like yourself it just flares up and keeps me awake at night and in tears . Nothing showed on any scans on the sacroiliac joints and when I tried to exercise to strengthen it just made things worse . I had a radioactive CT scan which showed up L4/5 disc degeneration so I thought there is hope if I get that fixed. It was a major operation from the front and I am now four half months post op. It was the worst thing I could have done as not only did it not solve the original pain but it has made me far worse then ever before . I am using a stair lift and I cry every day . I have always been very active up until the op and I feel now that I will never recover . I take a very low dose pregabalin at night only but I started to take a Zopiclone for sleep when in hospital and now trying to come off is awful . I can’t see a way out of this tunnel of pain and no sleep therefore no energy and no functioning. I hope this story puts you off of any major operations and possibly steroid jabs etc . As for pregabalin well I don’t know . I only know that I don’t want to increase it and yes I think it does make nerve pain worse in my case but I am at a loss as to what to do now . If anyone else out there can help with advice I would appreciate it. I am very sensitive to any drug .

@puffinmum stay far away from gabapentin. Nasty drug. PT is recommended. Exercise/stretching are options. No more shots.
