Slow growth of cancer cells and Prevent Recurrence
Hello
My name is Minh Le and I’m new here.
I diagnosed with colorectal cancer at sigmoid areas, stage 3B, in 2/2022.
- had 3 major and one minor surgeries
- it has recurred 3 times (2 times at sigmoid area and currently at stoma area) and spread to lung and liver.
- had 41 chemo fusion treatments and 30 radiation treatment.
Results from treatments:
- sigmoid areas seem to be treated after 30 chemo treatments and 30 radiation treatments.
- lung and liver were treated after another 11 chemo treatments with target drug Avastin (bevacizumap).
Current treatments
- have been orally taking Lonsurf medication (twice a day for 10 days) for 3 cycles. Continue to take it.
- also do Avastin thru infusion every 2 weeks.
***new development ***
- tumors were seen at the Ostomy (Stoma) area. The surgeon performed a minor surgery in the office but it seems to continue developing new tumors at the stoma.
***Question****
What can I do or take to prevent cancer come back? Or to slow growth of cancer cells. Thanks

I wish I had a miracle pill to suggest, but alas, I do not. I do have faith, and I pray for my son who is going through this journey. He is refusing any more chemo or radiation at the moment. He is looking at alternative methods, and meanwhile, I pray. I know chemo is poison, but if it will eradicate, slow, or stop the cancer from growing, then I am all for it. I wish you well on your journey, also.

Thanks. Please let me know if the alternative way works for your son. In the meantime I’m trying something while I’m having chemo treatments.
Hello,
I am new to this and have an almost 89 yr old dad with stage 4 colon cancer. He got Covid in Feb and had upper back pain and we recently found out colon is primary, abdominal lining, lung & (1) liver met. No other symptoms except a few belly pains in last wk. Any advice for increasing his appetite? Gummies? We talk soon to Oncology and not sure if any options for him. He is a young 89 yr old and no meds until age 87. Any suggestions/comments as to treatment are appreciated!! Thanks!

2 Reactions@indygirl123 I’d say ….follow the oncologist’s treatment plans. It is tough to do chemo treatments at his age.
Keep his mind always positive. Family support is the big role.

1 Reaction@minhthanhle don’t you think docs will use a less aggressive treatment plan ? There are many treatment options/adjustments available…a family elder did a combo of chemo and immunotherapy, now just on immunotherapy which is easier on him. (in his 90s)..advocate for what will work best for him. Compassion is key.
