Hi,
I'm so sorry about your Dad having lung and colon cancer. That's hard. Also how sad for you to lose your brother and your Mom! We do wonder why we are left behind but all we can do is try and make the best of it. That's nice you have good friends. Even though I'm 79 I have a few friends left that haven't gone onto Heaven.
My husband had Chemotherapy and Keytruda and reacted badly to both treatments. So he refused any further treatments. He lived 14 years with lung cancer. It was only in his lungs. Like your Dad he also smoked at one point in his life. My husband just ate healthy and for him healthy was a good steak and vegetables. He continued to see his doctor and take his regular medications. What also helped him was prayer. We prayed together and God was there for us. It was a blessing that we had those 14 years together. We were married for 30 years.
One thing that also helped was to research the side effects of all of my husband's medications. That way you can tell somewhat if something unusual is going on with him and where it's coming from. Doctors are too busy to do this.
Feel free to write if you have any other questions. I will say a prayer for your Dad.
