Hi. This I’m third time breast cancer patient and this time a3 years after the last one I have skin metastasis. Currently having Radiation again tomorrow and starting Kasqali targeted therapy straight after. I’m on an AI estréseme (aromasin) I am terrified. It’s very painful and seems to be spreading fast. It’s a recurrence of my last hormone positive BC.

Hello Alice123: I hope radiation goes well. I agree, it is all scary.
Ask your radiologist about using Mepitel Film to avoid or greatly reduce radiation dermatitis and moist desquamation. (Google search: "breast radiation Mepitel Film"). I used Mepitel Film during radiation after mastectomy about 3.5 years ago and it worked really well. I don't know how it would work for cutaneous metastases.
As to cutaneous metastases, yes, they are nasty little dickens. I have about 30-40 of them on my chest and upper abdomen. So far, none have ulcerated. At present they are not painful. Like yours they are increasing in size and number. I know it is only a matter of time until things change.
I am triple negative, so no AI or hormone therapy for me. I am hoping to start datopotamab deruxtecan dink (short name = dato-dxd; brand name = Datroway.). It is FDA approved for some breast cancers--maybe yours? It is not yet approved for triple negative so I am hoping to get it via compassionate use.
I will likely start radiation soon although I also dread the thought of it. Have you had radiation before? After the mastectomy I had 33 sessions--not a good experience.
What is your radiation regimen? I hope it is going okay...tough stuff. Please let me know how you are doing. My oncologist says that the best treatment is radiation, but that I am not 'there' yet. Soon, I know.
