My dr at Cleveland Clinic said it is supposed to be used if you have bone pain I have no pain the dr at Moffitt in fla has put me on this I’m not sure if it was the right thing to do

Great news did they do it with radiation,do you have it anywhere else on your bones?

I just finished round two of radiation treatment for prostate cancer because it had spread to a lymph node. (Gone from the prostate, so that's the good news.) On Orgovyx, Abiraterone and Prednisone. Simptoms are frequent urination and inability to sleep after four or five hours. Two possibly connected. So what is causing these symptoms? And what can I do?

Abiraterone Causes a lot of fatigue for some people. As a result, they tend to go to sleep in the afternoon for an hour or so. Are you doing that? Sleeping more than about an hour can cause you to go into REM sleep which then affects you at night and prevent you for being able to sleep through the night. If you want to sleep during the day, taking a 25 or 30 minute nap should be plenty to resolve the fatigue. Setting a timer on your phone to wake you up is a good way to stop it. I do it every few days even though I’m only on ADT, I don’t sleep more than about six hours some nights and need a little bit extra those days. Other days I sleep seven hours and don’t need any rest in the afternoon.

I used to get up a couple of times at night to pee. I found out about Myrbetriq and Gemtesa, two drugs that can stop the urgency at night and also help with incontinence during the day. I started taking Myrbetriq And I don’t get up at night most nights anymore. Wait until I wake up in the morning and then pee. These drugs can do some great things to help your nightly sleep. Speak to your doctor about this. It might work for you.

@tommcpheeters I'm now at about 6 weeks with Orgovyx, and 2 with abiraterone / prednisone. A great night's sleep is a thing of the past, but a couple of things have helped me: The inevitable hot flash in the middle of the night is my cue to get up and pee, even if I don't NEED to. Cools me off, and forestalls the later bathroom need, and hey, I'm going to be awake for awhile anyway. I also take my abbie then, to avoid that annoying daytime "eating by the clock". Afternoon naps also help, and as Jeff said, short ones so I don't steal from the coming night's rest.

I had terrible hot flashes with ADT (Lupron)and Abbie. Eight years later, I’m on Orgovyx And still getting hot flashes, though they are milder. Abbie really made the hot flashes a lot more intense.

I would wake up at night with a sheet wet under me because I had hot sweats and hot flashes. I got an Embrlabs.com Wave 2 Device and it pretty much stopped the nightly hot flashes and was able to reduce the daily ones a little bit. It has two buttons one you can set for a day and one you can set for night. If you get one post a message about it or I can send you instructions for how to optimally configure it. I’ve used it for five years and i’ve worked closely with the company that whole time.

One of the doctors at Mayo did a monthly talk about ADT and posted this information about drugs. You can get that can stop hot flashes. I’ll post that slide. Some people have been able to successfully get Acupuncture treatment for it.

@jeffmarc Thanks for the recommendations. I'll keep the Wave 2 idea in my back pocket, though I'm a little OCD and I think wearing something at night would be bothersome. So far the hot flashes aren't major. Based on some of what I've read, if they do become severe, my first option might be to ask for an estradiol patch prescription.
