I think the ulcer predated the procedure, but was irritated by it and
is now causing pain.

@pdlane35 - I've had four colonoscopies, I believe, which aren't terribly fun, but no rectal ulcer. Did the rectal ulcer pre-date the colonoscopy, and somehow the colonoscopy bothered it? Or, are you thinking perhaps the colonoscopy caused the rectal ulcer?
