I believe both @gently and @dpcarriere have consulted and/or been treated by Dr. Nathan Yu at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Possible @ava11, too. I'm not sure.

@service1010, have you been to Mayo Clinic before or is this your first time?

service1010,
I was in a consultation with Dr. Yu, but I wasn't the patient. He was very interactive and I appreciated his knowledge. This maybe the best ever review of a doctor and maybe the only review of Dr Yu. https://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-nathan-yu-xymqb3t I try to find out where they are most experienced https://health.usnews.com/doctors/nathan-yu-1415917 And I like to look at their publications. https://www.mayoclinic.org/biographies/yu-nathan-y-m-d/bio-20519750
I think you'll fare quite well with this doctor.

Dr Yu was the Radiation Oncologist that treated my grade 10 prostate cancer. Dr Yu is an exception among physicians. He is superbly qualified and communicates exceedingly well. You will find none better. I say this not only from my experience but from the praise of another. At one of my appts with Dr Yu he was needed for an emergency and had to leave my appt. In his place was none other that the head of Mayo itself. He was making his rounds of the US facilities and happened to be at Mayo Scottsdale when I was there for my appt with Dr Yu. I apologise for not remembering his name. So I had my appt with the Dr in charge of all Mayo facilities. I was fortunate. He's brilliant. You have a sense of that as soon as he starts to communicate. We had a lovely conversation and during that conversation the good Dr told me how fortunate I was to have Dr Yu as my physician as he considered Dr Yu to be one of his most brilliant and gifted. I could go on but I'll finish with this. About a couple months after my proton beam treatments had finished I got a call one afternoon from Dr Yu asking how I was feeling and if there was anything he could do for me. I ask all - how many physicians have you experienced that took the time to call you at home to be sure all was right?? I can count them on one hand.

So I will say unabashedly to all. You are exceedingly fortunate if you are treated by the dear and most competent Dr Yu.

@dpcarriere
Usually a nurse calls in my case. I can't recall a doctor ever calling me.

@gently I appreciate your response. Odd that there is only the one review...
Was the patient satisfied with his treatment?

@service1010, yes. The patient was upset by the illness and not receptive to the extremity of his diagnosis, but in the end was so grateful to Yu for "saving his life." I imagine that there are more reviews like @dpcarriere's not in print.
I'll be curious about your upcoming assessment and hope your experience is satisfying and successful.
