I am 80 yrs. old with increasing episodes of sciatica that leave me incapacitated. Side effects of prednisone (the only thing that gives any relief) are beginning to cause more problems. I am becoming desperate and would appreciate any advice especially exersizes that target sciatica. Many thanks

@429 I am 75 and have occasional flare ups of sciatica in one hip/leg. Because of other medications I take, I can only take Tylenol for pain and that does very little to help. I do see a chiropractor and that helps some when I am having a flare up. And if you go to youtube and search for "Exercises for Sciatica" you will find many stretching exercises you can do in your own home that might help. The real key is to do them everyday. Start off SLOW... and work up. Do you have access to a gym? Stretching classes for seniors might help. Also, your doctor might be able to refer you for physical therapy. I hope something here may give you some ideas to try. I wish you well! Mike
