Hi. I really feel for you. I'm in a very similar situation, I have insomnia too. My dr said to stop this antibiotic, flagly, and ordered me xifaxian. The insurance company won't approve it without a 3 page PA, I dont know who is being unreasonable, but my dietician said insurance wont cover it if they diagnose it as sibo, has anyone else heard this? they need to say IBS-D, not sibo. I'm trying to communicate this to the office but they aren't listening.
Im afraid stopping this antibiotic before i finish the 10 days will encourage antibiotic resistance. Does anyone have and thoughts or experience with any of that? One thing I am very grateful for is this community!! It does bring me comfort knowing I'm not the only one struggling with this. I'm not ready to accept this is a chronic condition...this is a just for today condition ... thanks everybody. Hanging in here!!

I’ve not had trouble with insurance refusing to cover xifaxin but now that I’m on Medicare Rx, I can’t afford it even with the co-pay. My doctor suggested I try the Canadian Discount Pharmacy in Belleview, FL. It’s easy - I scan and email my prescription - but is a little slow so I get a three month supply. Here’s the website: https://www.candisrx.com/

Originally they were going to put me on Flagyl but decided the Xifaxian which had been a struggle for me. What did the Flagyl do to you?
