@laughlin1947 I’m not sure where the pain is coming from! Hip or back….. had MRI on both. Moderate to severe arthritis left hip, 4 slightly bulging discs, and a little stenosis……. I’m 75.
Just don’t want to get the hip replaced, and still have pain.

@ginger123 For your hip replacement - If you get one of the best orthopedic surgeons available and have him/her use the anterior approach in terms of the surgical entry point, you will have little or no pain. The first day or two you will put some weight on the joint using a walker. After that, just a cane for a short while. Still no pain with that, the big worry the medical people have is they do not want you to fall down and possibly dislocate your hip. Your PT technician will help you guard against that. After that, the PT consists of sitting up and down off a straight back chair. 50 reps a day maybe. Still no pain. No pain at night during sleep hours. Getting the hip done will get rid of the arthritis pain in your hip.
