LDL in the 20's?? In my research, it sounds to me like that is too low. My cardiologist wasn't happy when mine was 130. She said get it to 100. When I got to 100 she said get it to 80 and now she's telling me get it to 50 or below! Just exactly how low is too low? LDL plays essential roles in the body, including the formation of cell membranes and the production of hormones.

@discernment Great news that you are able to control your LDL so well. Congrats!

I love what @margaretfriel says, just like snowflakes no two humans are alike. There lies the challenge with lipid management.

You bring up a great question about where LDL numbers should be. This brand new podcast is exactly what you may want to listen to. In addition to the role of Repatha and quite a few other topics surrounding cholesterol, it explains the science behind when and why 55 is the number to shoot for. Please come back and let me know what you think after you listen.

Have you had a conversation with your doctor about your unique risk factors and what her LDL goal is for you? You may have said this earlier, are you taking Repatha?

@discernment my cardiologist would be thrilled if mine was 20 (me too) mine is 60 and they want it below 50.
