Problems with Sleeping on Orgovyx
I am almost 80 years old. Gleason score of 9. Prostate removed over four years ago. Biochemical recurrence after two years. Put on Orgovyx. I have been on and off the medication for over two years. I can’t have radiation because of complications from removal of my colon-I have what is called a J-Pouch. Orgovyx appears to be holding the cancer back and I don’t have many side effects. However sleeping is a problem. I have been using Ambien on and off to get a good night’s rest. Thoughts from the group please about how to get a good night sleep without using Ambien. Or should I just keep taking it periodically?

Yes I ahve some sleep issues with Orgovyx...not as bad as early on when I first started...but between that and frequent night time urination, it is a hassle..at times..then there are periods when I sleep ok..it seems I always get off to sleep and sleep better after about 3 am to 8 am..I sometimes take a baby aspirin that helps, or Benedryl..just another side effect..got another year of Orgovyx I think..
hope you find something that works..if so let me know !

1 ReactionHaving problems with sleep is a common issue with people that are on ADT. Frequently it’s caused by hot flashes and night sweats Are you having those problems? If so the Embrlabs.com has a wave device that really stopped the night problems for me and. Other people, I know.
You say you’ve been on and off drugs for years does that include Orgovyx?
This problem usually does go away over time according to this article.

I am 78 and have no problem sleeping with it, but everyone is different. I’ve also been on ADT for eight years so maybe that’s a factor. In my case, hot flashes, and night sweats are over, At least at night.

It's funny that you should mention this. It's exactly what has happened to me.
Been on Nubeqa and Orgovyx since last March. I used to be able to get to sleep within 15/20 mins of lying down. Now it seems I watch the clock for an hour/hour and a half.
When I finally get back to sleep I then need to get up to pee.
When I get back to sleep it's the best sleep after 2/3am.
In January I tested positive for Influenza A. I was using NyQuil PM and for 3 weeks slept really good.

3 ReactionsI've had sleep issues for a long time. Lupron and Orgovyx made it worse. I take Temazepam every night and sometimes add Trazadone to the mix and sleep well. I found ADT knocked me down some but missing a night of sleep put me into an Eeyore state the next day. Frankly, not concerned with a mild sleep drug addiction.

1 ReactionI find easily available THC helps. Delta 9 is still legal.

Same exact thing on my end. I'm 18 months in with Eligard. Terrible sleep before 3 am but it tends to get better afterwards. I'm not currently taking anything for it but I'll keep waiting for that one AHAAA moment! 🙂
Hi,
I find Trazodone helps a lot, sometimes with 2 Benadryl. Zzzzzz most of the night. Still get up to urinate, but other than that I've been sleeping well. Caveat: I've only been on for a week.
Because it’s legal where I live, I cut a CBD GUMMY into quarters and take it at bedtime. I’m 15 months in, and have suffered from lack of sleep and continued joint pain since the beginning. It also seems to help with my stomach problems. The dosage was arrived at through trial and error, with the goal being the minimum mount required daily. No matter, just focus on the end.
Exercising when on ADT has proven to help a lot of guys.... Weight training especially.
All:
Thank you for the recommendations concerning sleep while taking Orgovyx. I do exercise regularly and including with weights. I have been using Magnesium Glysinate with limited success. I am going to try the CBD Gummies.
Thanks to all.
