My last gynecologist (now retired) had me take a holiday and should have put me on something else, but didn't. My dexascan numbers went downhill. That's the problem with dropping Prolia. My current gynecologist (who is much younger than the last one) has no problem with me staying on Prolia. I'm 75. I have no negative side effects and the dexascan results are very good. I have osteopenia rather than osteoporisis and that's great. I have been on Prolia for more than a decade. There are other options, but this one works well for me. What I have found is that it is hard to find doctors who are knowledgeable about the options available to treat osteoporisis.
