Go go to an ENT. You will have a better chance of insurance paying the bill and an ENT who specializes in oral cancer and can do a biopsy if called for is your best bet. Good luck.

@pampou CAREFUL. I was in the hospital with swollen tongue. The hospital ENT was called and said it was a Hemotoma, and no concern--see a doctor in a few weeks In 2 days when it did not get better- I went to who I thought would know about these things, my dentist. He saw it and instantly was concerned and immediatley sent me to an oral dental surgeon. That person saw it and instantly sent me to a oral surgeon who has both a MD and DDS degree. I was admitted to hosptial the same day as I saw him and had tongue surgery 2 days later for cancer--denocarcinoma. My point, a ENT can be wrong or not knowledgeable. Need to take an active role in ones health.
