It's not uncommon to forget things right after surgery!

Usually loop ostomies are done when that is a plan for reconnection. It's a *much* easier surgery. They detached the stoma from the abdominal wall, sew the ends together and kinda pop it back in ( I'm not a surgeon, but I had two reconnections that's how it was described to me). Do you still have your colon (or a substantial amount of it)? Can you be reconnected?

The doctor said they can’t reattach it because I am also a kidney transplant recipient and with my poor immune system they feel it wouldn’t take.
When I had the surgery for the ostomy the beginning of November I had major problems after. Infection, pneumonia etc. for a few days my family was concerned that I was going to pull through I was so sick. I spent many days in the hospital and don’t believe I could go through it again any.
