Finished radiaiton therapy and 18 months of orgovyx
Finished radiation therapy and 18 months of orgovyx. My urologist wants me to wait for about a month before I get my PSA taken. Is this normal?

If you just finished 18 months of Orgovyx It is a little late for getting your first PSA test. I’ve been getting test every month since I’ve been on ADT whether it was Lupron or Orgovyx Because some people become resistant to the drugs And the PSA starts rising.
Waiting one more month isn’t gonna make any difference
I had it tested and my Testosterone was low during treatment. But I am talking about when should I have it tested after the treatment and stopping orgovyx.

Testosterone comes back pretty quick when you’re on Orgovyx. I personally would want to be tested every month, but it may take two or three months before your testosterone comes back enough for your PSA to rise. Then again, some studies have shown when it hits 50 it can affect your PSA.
Here’s some information on how quickly the testosterone comes back after stopping Orgovyx.
In the HERO study, relugolix demonstrated sustained testosterone suppression superior to that of leuprolide acetate (97% vs 89%; difference 7.9% [95% confidence interval, 4.1–12%; p < 0.001]).
Men (N = 934) were randomized (2:1) to receive relugolix 120 mg orally daily or leuprolide acetate injections every 12 wk for 48 wk.
Overall, 74 of the 137 men in the relugolix cohort recovered to testosterone >280 ng/dl, with a median time to recovery of 86.0 d (95% CI, 65.0–92.0), versus two of the 47 men in the leuprolide cohort, with a median time to recovery of 112.0 d
